"The Novelist" is an incredibly sentimental and wistful song. I combined it with footage from Big O, then altered the footage in a manner inspired by German silent film. I then degraded the audio to help "age" the piece as a whole. I then decided to make the video an actual silent film... but the audio track is so beautiful that I had to release the "talkie" version of the video, in addition to the "silent" version.
